Off-road range extended thanks to the S-328 series axle

The S-328 rigid steering axle is one of the latest developments of Comer Industries Powertrain technology. It extends the current range of its off-road axles, that had previously been based on the 128 and 228/238 models. Ideal for application on 11-tonne telehandlers, it features exceptional load capacity and torque (12 tonne dynamic load and 53,000 Nm of peak torque), which make it suitable for equipping most construction and earthmoving machinery.
Thanks to the new self-adjusting wet multi-disc service brakes fitted symmetrically to both axle shafts, the new S-328 series allows both fast deceleration and efficient heat dissipation, thus increasing operating lifespan. The parking brake can be either SAHR (Spring Applied Hydraulically Released) type, which uses wet discs, or Caliper type, fitted at the axle's input, and is able to satisfy the most stringent safety requirements.

Powershift A-614: an integrated mechatronic system

The A-614 two or three-speed Powershift is a mechatronic system which integrates the mechanical transmission, the hydraulic system for the management of the clutches and the electronic control unit (ECU), the brain of the product, which manages speed changes without torque interruption.
The new transmission allows the end user to change the final speed of the augers without stopping the tractor PTO, thus saving time and fuel (-30%).
The helical gear design helps reduce transmission noise, while the electronic control unit (ECU) checks the speed change in a modulated way to permit continuous operation. The ECU conveys simple analog signals and, thanks to the CAN bus interface, provides detailed feedback to the main control unit of the feed mixer.
The Powershift operates together with the electronic control and features detection sensors for temperature, pressure and input and output speed control.

LARGER SURFACE AREA AND NEW TEST BENCHES

Mechatronics Research Center further extended

The Mechatronics Research Center was established in 1996 to cater to the validation requirements of our transmissions and cut product time-to-market.
This year, the surface area of the laboratory has been extended by 40% and new dedicated test cells have been installed for planetary gearboxes and drivetrains.
3 benches are already operating for endurance tests, structural fatigue tests, steering system fatigue tests and braking system control tests. The new stations feature innovative mechanical solutions combined with sensors and “state of the art” control systems to record and analyze large quantities of data.

RESEARCH PROJECT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH COBO

High-efficiency hybrid mechatronic transmission for feedmixers

Comer Industries participates in numerous research projects funded by the Emilia Romagna Region.
In the Announcement 773/2015 POR-FESR 2014-2020 for high-efficiency hybrid mechatronic transmission systems for feedmixers, we have worked in collaboration with Cobo, a company that leads the field in the design, development and supply of global solutions and integrated systems for the off-highway vehicle market.
The goal of this partnership is to develop a high-efficiency hybrid transmission for feedmixers.
